How do I make sure I have high chances to pass the emissions test?
No Check Engine
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) must be off and there should not be any emissions related diagnostic trouble codes in vehicles memory. Pending, Stored Or Permanent.
Monitor Readiness
Readiness monitors determine whether emissions control systems have completed self test necessary to run and check for emissions related faults. Including data like distance traveled, number of warmups and engine run time since the last Check Engine codes cleared.
No Dead Battery
Disconnecting battery or needing to jump start the vehicles will erase OBD data and will clear saved readiness monitor status. You will need to complete multiple drive cycles until truck is ready for testing.
